Abstract

With regard to language education, two central positions can be noted in the subject of German as a second language: The norm-oriented „DaZ approach“ is contrasted with the resource-oriented multilingualism approach. This article aims to highlight the tension between these two positions and considers how prospective teachers of the subject German as a second language can develop a reflective professionalism within this tension.
