ABOUT THE JOURNAL

mathematica didactica is a scientific and peer-reviewed open access journal for mathematics didactics. It contains original contributions on the teaching and learning of mathematics that enrich the scientific discourse. Empirical studies as well as theoretical conceptualizations are published. Contributions from the entire range of scholarly engagement with this field of research are welcome.

Both free contributions and contributions bundled under a thematic focus appear each year; proposals for thematic focuses from guest editors can be submitted to the permanent editors.

Until 2020, mathematica didactica was published by the Franzbecker publishing house both online first and in two printed issues per year. Since 2021, contributions to mathematica didactica have been published exclusively online in open access.
