Abstract

Hazel Andrews is a social anthropologist working and teaching in Liverpool, UK. She has been working on tourism ethnographies in Magaluf and Palmanova on Mallorca (Spain) and was interviewed by Janine Traber during the Third Workshop on Language and Tourism. Language and Intimacy: Discourses and Narratives in El Arenal, October 13-14, 2018 (http://afrikanistik.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de/index.php?id=37496). She discusses research methodology and difficulties, social class, drinking and sexualization culture, as well as racism in tourism on the island.
