Abstract

Finally, after decades of oppression, Kenya had become independent from the British. The suffering that the colonial period had brought to Kenya and other countries can be read about in the history books, and the effects can be experienced on a daily basis. And yet everything was supposed to get better. But MaybeJoseph, a man who might have existed at that time, who might even have been brought into office as secretary of state, had decided that the land could now be redistributed. MaybeJoseph, maybe, came from Nairobi and was in the Elite Club, which had a large membership that could call the great, fertile land in the interior of Kenya its own. But the club members still lacked a bit of space in the sun and so MaybeJoseph spun threads. The threads covered the view of numerous bodies that had fallen victim to his ideas, but in the end, he had achieved what everyone thought was possible anyway.
