Multilingualism and GBMSM (gay, bisexual, and men-who-have-sex-with-men) group sex

As a hyper-polyglot whose language repertoire has been shaped by homosexuality and queerness , in my study of GBMSM group sex, I focus on the multilingualism of this sexual practice – a topic that has not yet been addressed in scholarship. Specifically, I aim to verify whether GBMSM group-sex events attest to multilingual patterns and, should this be the case, what characteristics such multilingual communication tends to exhibit. I develop my research against the backdrop of studies dedicated to the intersection of multilingualism and GBMSM and couch it within the subjective methodologies of erotic (naked) embodied autoethnography, existential naturalism, and artisticization of science on the one hand, and the more “positivistic” approaches imported from sociolinguistics, language-contact studies, and cognitive linguistics on the other hand.
