Jeremiad chants of bellyache

Poems reflect on the ways in which we live and travel in a world in which our ancestors are forgotten: “What mariner stories shall we share as sojourners? / In these lands shared by our ancestors that we deny / Among these people betrayed by our ancestors / Whose names are written on our history walls? / Whose names and gains we enjoy without regret / Or feel any commitment / to their right to reparation.“ Poetry as an alternative way to chronicle the present and to look at the histories from which it emerges here helps to turn the gaze not only to the powerful contribution of the poetics of resonance, but also to the deep meaning offered by texts in other genres than academic papers.
